Please be informed that certificates of 2012 Hong Kong Advanced Level (AL) Examination and certificates of 2012 Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) Examination are available for collection from 1st November, 2012 to 16th November, 2012 from the General Office.
S6 and S7 graduates should make an effort to come and collect your certificates. You will be required to show your Hong Kong Identity Card when you collect your certificate. If you ask another person to collect the certificate for you, he/she should produce a photocopy of your I.D. Card and your letter of authorization. For any queries, please contact Ms. CHU HOI YAN at 27040051.
You should check your personal data (such as Chinese/English name and Hong Kong ID card number) on the certificate thoroughly. If amendments are required, you should complete the appropriate amendment request form and return it together with the certificate to the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority’s office as soon as possible. Amendment of personal data on a certificate will be made by the Authority free of charge if the request is received on or before 31st December, 2012. For requests made between 1st January, 2013 and 31st March, 2013, a fee of HK$215 will be charged. No amendment of personal data on a certificate will be accepted after 31st March, 2013. If you lose your certificate or wish to amend your personal data after 31st March, 2013, you may apply for a Statement of Results from the Authority and the current fee for the issue of a Statement of Results is $425 per copy.
Drama Club had participated in School Drama Festival 2012/13. They won five prizes in the Secondary Cantonese category. They have got the Award for Outstanding Script, Award for Outstanding Director(5C Ho Chun Yin , 5C Law Hoi Ching), Award for Outstanding Performer(5C Ho Chun Yin), Award for Outstanding Cooperation and Award for Commendable Overall. It is a great encouragement to all the members, Through the participation, they not only got the prizes in the Festival but also the worthy opinion from the adjudicators and the friendship among the members. Congratulations! Our students have performed extremely well on MySmartABC English Online Reading Programme throughout the 2011-2012 school year. TKOGSS is recognized for one of the Best Performing Schools. Four top performers 1D LAU Yin-hei, 2F HO Long-san, 3D WONG Yuen-keung and 3E TING Oi-man are invited to attend Smart Education’s Annual Prize Giving Ceremony and receive the “Outstanding Achievement Awards” on 7th July.
Our Cross Country School Team’s Girls’ B Grade Overall came Third and Girls Overall came Fourth in the Inter-school Cross Country Championships. In addition, they have won 3 medals in this competition. Congratulations!
The 3rd English Radio Drama Competition for Hong Kong & Macau Schools
Our S3 and S5 students participated in the 3rd English Radio Drama Competition for Hong Kong & Macau Schools. It’s our pleasure to have been selected as one of the ten finalists in the competition out of 80 schools. Our students had to perform LIVE in front of the audience and panel of judges in the finals of the competition which was held at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts on 26th March, 2011. It was an afternoon full of fun, creativity and excitement. Our students did an excellent job, and the judges were very impressed with their performance. They won four prizes in the competition. Our Junior team won the Bronze Award. Our Senior team won the Silver Award, the Outstanding Award for Creativity and the Best Performer (5C Lam Hoi Tung). Congratulations to all the participants.
The Inter-house English Musical Contest 2013 was co-organised by the English Club and the Liberal Studies Department on 4th July, 2013. The theme of the musical was "Enhancing the quality of life of students", which is a major concern of the school.
Though this activity, the participants had an opportunity to apply their singing, dancing and acting talents. Not only could the participants benefit from the activity, but the audience could also learn from increased exposure to English in a real-life situation. 28 Form 2 students attended the prefect trainee training program held at 8th March, then finished the practical conducted by experienced prefects during 12th to 26th April. Thirty-three S4 and S5 students visited Mai Po nature reserve on 4 February, 2013 and participated in the ‘Wetland Ecologist’ education programme. The 4-hour tour covered bird hides, mangroves, gei wai and nearby fish ponds with interactive activities along the way.

Prefect Exchange Program
The Prefect Exchange Program was held on 21st January, 2013 in our school hall. This exchange program was organized by our school and Sir Ellis Kardoorie Secondary School (West Kowloon). Fifty-seven S4 and S5 prefects from our school were engaged in this leadership exchange program. The head prefects from both schools shared their values, mission statements and duties in their prefect teams. The experience-sharing enabled the prefects to benefit from each other.
After the sharing session, each school had prepared activities to enhance their capabilities in exercising leadership skills, coping with adversity, developing social and interpersonal skills, building team spirit, raising self-confidence levels and heightening self-motivation. The students enjoyed the program very much. They engaged in the challenging tasks in small groups which gave them the opportunity to communicate with the teachers and students solely in English. The experience-sharing enabled the prefects to learn from each other and broaden their horizons.

S1 Teacher Interview
The S1 Teacher Interview was held from 6th November, 2012 to 13th December, 2012. It provided the opportunity for S.1 students to practise English and at the same time get to know the teachers in the school. Students worked in groups to prepare interview questions based on the theme of “Enhancing the Quality of Life of Students”, conduct interviews and write a personal profile of the teachers interviewed. Prefects’ Christmas party 2012
The Prefects’ Christmas party was held at the School Hall on 21st December, 2012. Apart from celebrating the Christmas, we had organized a number of games which help to enhance prefects’ leadership skills and team spirits in the party. The election for the new Student Association for this academic year was successfully
held in the school hall on 8th October 2012. This year, there were three cabinets, Brace, Spongy and Wi-fi. From September to October, the three cabinets put much effort into the election campaign, that created a strong election atmosphere in the school. At the pre-election forum, the three cabinets responded to the challenging questions raised by their opponents and the audience.
After the pre-election forum, each student was given a chance to vote for the cabinet they supported.
Finally, Spongy won the election with 438 votes. Congratulations to Spongy! The hand-over ceremony was held on 15th October 2012.

The Commission Ceremony for School Prefects was successfully held in the morning assembly in the school hall on 21 September 2012. Two Head Prefects, four Vice-Prefects and 67 Prefects were commissioned by the Principal. The training Day for Prefects was successfully held at the School Hall on 15 September 2012. The purpose of the training was to stimulate and nurture the participants’ multiple intelligence so as to enhance their capabilities to exercise leadership skills, cope with adversity, develop social and interpersonal skills, build team spirit, raise self-confidence levels and heighten self-motivation. The ultimate goal of the training sessions was to prepare the prefects to take on responsibilities involved in being school prefects.

The above programme was held at the Hall on 14th September, 2012. The principal and the teachers give great encouraging speeches to the prefects. 5C’s English Assembly
5C staged a performance encouraging students to develop a healthy life style and positive relationships.
During the period of 29th June and 7th July, 14 S4 and S6 students, went to Hervey Bay, Queensland, Australia for a study tour. Hervey Bay is a small city with a population of about 52,000 people. It is located on the east coast of Queensland.
After the trip, the participating students shared with the whole school what they learned and did during the study tour. Their journals and pictures taken on the tour were displayed and a study tour item was also presented at an English Assembly on 12 October 2011.
